There are two metaphors help to understand the revolution, the hurricane and the maze. Imagine yourself on a boat in the middle of the ocean, not sure which ocean. There are some basic givens. First, all your ancestors are born, raised, and died on this giant boat. Second, the destination of this boat is to the Truth land, where no one knows for sure what is there, nor the map to there, and the reason to go to that land is because everyone believes there are more satisfying life there. Third, natural is prone to chaos, which means that countless hurricane is threatening people’s life. What does this dangerous and beautiful ocean mean in real life? Nature consequently give us natural disasters. Human nature, political occurrence, and delicate details coded in destiny together plotted wars, oppression, and all kinds of anguish disasters. The hurricane leads the boat the destruction. (Notice that before the storm, sky is always tranquil. Thus, most people on the boat may not know the coming disaster.) Nonetheless, there are always people on the boat with magnificent power to turn the boat in the seemingly right direction towards safety. The process of turning is what called “revolution” — the changing of course. There are givens in this circumstance. a). the hero who turn the boat can’t guarantee the long-term safety of the boat. They may just go into a bigger chaos. The bigger picture is impossible to predict. b). those who provide plan but don’t act on it change nothing of the course of the boat. c). the hero is actually challenging the ocean.
Revolution is an action consisted rejection to the existing authority, which result in changing on both oppressors and oppressed with the replacement of a new one.

(remember in the legend of Nania that fear constitute the danger of the ocean) Therefore, I listed three givens for revolution below:
Unlike resistance, revolution needs the resisting of existing authority and the replacement of a new one.
Unlike rebellion, revolution requires actions with impact generated by paradigm shift.
Unlike secession, revolution commands changes on both oppressors and oppressed.
There’s one question remain. If no one knows whether the course we took are correct to our goal, what kind of rout are we taking? The definition by Lapham depicts revolution as a movement of revolving back to some pre-stablished point, which is irresistible and recurring. I am torn by this definition because revolution to me can’t just mean walking in circles, making mistakes over and over again, and there’s no difference. Within this huge hurricane, all that efforts, something must happened. Then the metaphor of maze come into my mind. If every decision human race made is a turn in the maze, we don’t know for sure the center of the maze, and we may be circling around. It’s not that desperate because there might be chance we stumble in the correct choice to a closer circle near the center. In countless defeat, human was never ending driving by out humanities to the conquest of the meaning of being human, an unknown that better us.
There is an interesting phenomenon in atoms. Within atoms, there are some electrons, neutrons, and protons moving randomly. But those particles can be classified into different energy levels that can be crossed. Under strong absorbing of ulterior power, particles can travel in another energy level that is closer to the center of the atom. This is called electronic transition.
